Foundation History

Founded in 1997 by the Association of Surgical Technologists, the Foundation for Surgical Technology supports scholarships for surgical technology students to cover the burdensome costs of education and practicing surgical technologists who wish to participate in medical mission projects. The Foundation is designated as a 501c3 organization, making contributions tax deductible.

Partnerships

In addition to the Association of Surgical Technologists, the Foundation welcomed the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assistants (NBSTSA) as a partner organization in 2016. The NBSTSA consolidated its scholarship program with the Foundation's, providing additional funding and administrative support for student scholarships.
